well, sounds like your system is pretty awesome!!

while i agree that HID is prety cool (the blue light) i personally looked at it and decided it was too expensive and a little too high tech...

i bought a 20W spot halogen lamp, a smart charger and NiMH batteries and built my own battery pack - cost about $120 total with a run time of 2:15 -- a comparable commercial setup would be $150-400 (plus i can modify my system myself).

i think the most important thing is MOUNTING the headlight on the HELMET! that way i can shine my light on motorists if they aproach from the side or look like they may turn left in front of me.

note: although i love riding with the system, dealing the the battery and all for every ride is a little much so i ride with the Cateye LEDs for most commutes.

i have never tried to bright taillights, but i think i might...
