I have done it a few times....it was my first Century, I did it on my MTB. After that I acquired a road bike, much easier. It is a great century to do regardless of the heat...very flat....
I believe the key to having a great ride is not to spend a lot of time out in the day....go as fast as you can safety...but get in as fast as you can. Being out on the course in the heat of the day is what will get you....
The races and the bike expo the day before are a must see as well....highly recommended...
