Ahh, tail light, not headlight. Even after genec gives you the answer, buy a multitester anyway. They're just too handy.

BTW, since you have a homebrew light system, there's no reason to use any type of connector that is hard to get. You could just go to any hardware store or home improvement place and get some connectors that would normally be used for low voltage landscape lights.
