Well, the peugeot has at least a little sentimental value in that it was my mom's bike that she bought in 1972. Surprisingly, it's only slightly too small, but I don't see that being too big a problem as it will be a commuter that I ride less than 8 miles a day.

Mostly though, it was free. My goal is to turn it into a decent fixed gear for under $200, which I think is do-able. Yes, I'm cheap, though I like to call it "frugal" or even "resourceful"
