I could get a fix all done from Cyclemania for that price, or try Cavern, I think Keith has a fuji in my size for $500. I love the Wheeler, a great ride and I've put lots of work into getting it set up as a bombproof s/s, but it would also be nice to have a bike I can ride and not worry about which part needs fixing or replacing.
Help.
If it were me and I had $500 to blow on a track bike....I would save up a bit more and get something nice. For $800 there is a lot more to choose from and at that price range you get more bang for your buck.
You can always go the eBay route and get a nice deal on a used bike too, many of us have done that without too many problems.
I've checked out the Cyclemania bikes and they are a good price but I thought they looked a bit sketchy, particularly the geometry, which seemed pretty roadish to me.
Keep your eyes glued to CL, obviously, some stuff comes up now and then.
