I'm trying to mount the superflash to the rear frame ' \ ' area the box discription and the moulding seem to force you ot mount it on the RIGHT side of the bike rather then the left side. I tried turning the mount around and it seems the ' \ ' is a bit too thick (I think) to mount the screw in. Also I use a rear rack so I'm concerned about something like 50% of the superflashes effectiveness cut off by the rack because it's being mounted so far into the racks ' /|\ ' area. I was thinking originally of mounting that on the ' /|\ ' area but found out that the mount was too big for it.

The superflash would make nice side left and right visiblity for sure. My original thought was to buy one and see how I liked it and if I liked it I'd get another and mount it facing to the rear with one on both sides of the ' /|\ ' rack.

I think you are trying first to mount the light on the left seat stay? But then the screw is facing the wheel? Mount it facing out sideways and tighten the clamp enough to hold the light but loose enough so you can spin the clamp around to where it belongs. Then just tighten the screw the hard way with the screwdriver in between the spokes. You can get plastic clamps for a bike light to fit almost any seat stay.
Some bike shops have a big box full.

Is the other problem mounting the light on the legs or stays of the rack itself ? It can be done but you need a small enough clamp. Try the bike shop, look at the ones that Cateye sells on their website.
If I could see a photo or you can measure the diameter of the rack and the seat stay I probably could find one that fits. I have two superflash so I can see the brackets made for them, in fact I have four brackets.
