It's well ove a pound if you go to a CF steerer tube. Just getting rid of the steel steerer tube is close to a pound. Then you pick up a few ounces in both the headset and the stem. And the forkblades themselves are going to be substantially lighter going CF.

CF forks with 1" steerers can be found in the 350g range (i.e Easton EC90). I'd give odds that the Trek Al fork with a steel steers is well north of 700g.

Reasonable stem would weigh in the 150g range, and the quill stem on the bike currently is pushing 300g.

Chris King threadless headset 90g. Threaded headset likely north of 200.

Adding it up its more weight difference than the difference between say an 853 steel frame and a CF frame.



Now, the question to me would be cost on an older frame. I did it on a higher line Ti frame that I'll keep for years.
