Dustinlikewhat, not trying to jack your thread here but it's relevant.

I have a shim on my 1" steertube and it rattles a little bit. Can I put one layer of beer can between the steertube and the shim to make it a bit more snug or some masking tape maybe?

EDIT: I just put a layer of masking tape once around the steertube and slid the shim over that and then put the stem on. That seemed to relieve the rattling issue. FYI
