loud car stereos annoy the piss out of me too, and i can't seem to grasp why anyone would want to subject themselves to the extreme SPLs present inside the vehicles...

a lot of composition and other work goes into making a good hip hop song. just because a song has sampled elements, doesn't make it original. and doesn't make it unmusical.

just because the lyrics of a song aren't sung, doesn't mean that the song itself isn't musical.

arranging samples and processing everything so that it sounds smooth is an art. i happened to go to school for four years to learn how to do it. i've spent 6 hours+ working on a multi-track, -1 minute project, getting it to sound JUST right. this stuff that people say isn't music is someone's art, someone's life. and you know what, they probably don't give two sh*ts what anyone else thinks about it.

just because something isn't palatable is no reason to devalue it's cultural or artistic significance.

btw, i'm not a hip hop producer or afficianado or anything like that, i'm a sound artist. i appreciate the work that goes into making those tracks.
