Amybeth;

I think anyone who's ridden for a number of years has periods of very low motivation / interest. I've ridden and commuted for about 33 years (the commuting part of that probably only 24 or 25 years) and have at times, felt the way you do now. Granted, I've never had to brave ice storms (I live in LA) but our heat, wind and drivers are plenty discouraging at times. In my case, my solution is simple. I take some time off the bike, I try not to feel guilty about it and I don't push myself to start riding again. The result is always the same. Soon enough, I miss riding, I realize how much I hate driving and in no time I'm back on the bike, refreshed and newly reminded of how much I love it.
