Excellent. But in the future, you might try something like what Mr. Brown suggests. Get something you can dedicate to the task that will provide a good solid 'dead-blow' to the notch. That very large screwdriver I originally spoke about is indeed a VERY large one. Not your usual toolbox item. It is heavy and has the tendency to stay with the blow, so to speak. Works like a charm. A good solid steel shaft like Sheldon describes will do the job.
You might also consider buying a 3/4lb dead-blow hammer. They are about the size of a typical household hammer but they are loaded with lead shot that greatly amplifies the shock delivery. You can wack the thing with a normal amount of force so you don't swing wild, but still deliver a good strike. A great bench tool.
