edit: all I need to complete it is switch the triple to a single crank. Anyone have a spare mtb crank (single double or otherwise)? The one that came on the smoke has the rings riveted to the spider.
Nice bike. What ratio are you using/plan to use? No spare crank here, my spare is the same kind. I just cut off the outer ring and popped the inner one off to make a single.
What kind of tensioner are you getting? The surly is nice, better than the one I used. I prefer the halflink myself (I like the look better), although it makes switching cogs harder, tensioner is much better for this purpose. Other thing is to check the chain/cog/chainring combo. Ramped cogs from a cassette with a deraileur chain and ramped chainring makes for a jumpy chain, even with the tensioner.
Misfitpyscles makes s/s cogs for $5. Awesome cog for the price.
