Just thought I would share my new found commuting garment...
A Hunting Vest...
They are obnoxious bright
ORANGE and depending on which one you get they have bird pockets. Bird pockets are compartments that are usually on both sides and the back to put pheasant or quail in so that you have a place to put them as you go through the field.
The inexpensive ones are like $10 bucks and generally made out of plastic.
I have found it great for going to the store or running errands where I may have a few items to carry but don't want to wear a pack. The items slide in the bird pockets and it also gives a place to bring along a pump and a tube if you have no seat bag etc... Along w/ additional pockets for stuff.
Add to that the shotgun shell holders on these vests and it may just be the perfect cycling commuting piece.
Just my contribution for the day.
