Oh man, I had this Flexy Flyer I got as a kid. (think of it as a sled on wheels). Sometime in High School I took that thing up to the top of Benedict Canyon where my buddy lived. There was a new development going in at Deep Canyon next door with little traffic. I put on a crash helmet, had him follow me in his car and zoom! I hit about 30 MPH, which when your face is 6 inches off the ground is screaming! Couldn't get the brakes to work real well, dragged my tennis shoes until they SMOKED! [and wore through] and finally ran off the road into a dirt pile to slow down.
