That is correct. Crank Brothers pedals have their own specific cleat that is shaped to fit Crank Brothers pedals. The cleat comes with the pedal, so its not going to cost you extra. The cleat fits onto a shoe with a two bolt mount..the same shoe that SPD cleat works with. However, an SPD cleat will not work with Eggbeaters. If you have an SPD (2-bolt) shoe, swap out the SPD cleat with the Crank Brothers cleat and you are set.
