Bikes: trek 8000, GF sugar 1, 1975 schwinn fairlady, 1942 ccm, 1965 ccm retro mod, khe lagger flatland bike...ect..

rims, rims, spokes, hoagies,

ok the bike is getting built up, and im getting excited! weee.

but now i look at my rims, and think. damn, im screwed?

i stole the wheelset from my sugar 1, mainly cause they are lowest km rims i have. the hubs im not too concerned (as ive enver had a hub break). im running the mavic 221 and a bon race on the front, the front is 32 (rear 36), and is radial (sniff sniff). After i saw a pic of a rim pulled apart on crazyguy i started thinking, and not to mention i dont want to be straightening every 50k. so whats the deal? in reality these rims in my opinion are strong XC rims, and ive really have great success on teh trails with them...however.

i have a 36 xc rim i could use for the front. and i could just hold my breathe, or i my other idea is to get non-disk compatible Dh rims, and run 13 or 14g stainless spoke. but is it neccesary? or am i just over reacting?

the bike has about 150cu of panniers, tent, and sleeping bag, plus i weigh about 190. show me the light guys!
