The charger is great, it charges at almost the same rate that the light uses. So if you forget to charge it the night before (you usually have some charge left), a 40 min charge in the morning will get you close to an hour.
EDIT: Nevermind about the power settings, it comes with the SL battery, which is ligher and has the usual advertised run time. You'll really love the side windows though, my ARC doesn't have this but my dual does, it lights up your bike computer very well.
