Review: Bellwether Windfront Tight

I recently purchased the Bellwether Windfront Tight for commuting in cold weather. Cost was $60 (Nashbar sale). I've worn it a couple times, and I have to say I'm very happy with it. I was originally going to purchase the Pearl Izumi Amfib tight, but at $99, I decided to find something cheaper.

The windfront tight features a windblocking/water repellent fabric on the front and thermaldress fabric on the back. The coldest I've worn the tight for my 40-minute commute has been 17 degrees, and it has been plenty warm and dry. The tight has 8" reflective zippers at the bottom and seems well constructed, although I don't think it's as well constructed as the PI amfib, but it's considerably cheaper. The one minor complaint I have is the bottom of the tight rides up a little above the ankle once you start biking -- I wish the pant legs were a little longer to compensate for bike posture.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a good cold weather tight and don't want to shill out $100 for PI, I recommend it. It gets the job done for considerably less $.
