Or you could live across the bay and go over the Dumbarton bridge..a short jog through EPA (never had a problem myself) and onto a very nice SF Bay trail.....'bout 17mi to google from Newark......only problem is the frickin wind. That and you need to watch out for skunks...seriously. I found it to be a pleasant beginning and end to the day.
