Why don't you start with a nice lowend bike for half the price? Just a thought, everyone kinda bashes them, but I ride the heck out of mine, ignorance is bliss (a 06 trek 1000 in my case). I don't know what I'm missing out on, so I'm not actually missing out on anything.
