Check out the Bianchi Fremont, if you're not stuck on the Kona. The Felt TK2 is also a nice lightweight racer drilled for a brake. I would take a serious look at the Bareknuckle (Or the new Brassknuckle aluminum) frame as well.

i'm just looking for a cross training, shift of pace, kind of bike at a reasonable price, so no felt for me.
