i tried the bb/lock ring tool (shimano) my friend had, but it was too small to get over the bianchi lockring. remembering that, i didn't want to buy the wrong thing. wanted specifics if anyone knows it. but yeah, you both are right. and the one i have is totally not getting it done.

screwdriver and hammer is last resort.
