Only a few slopes on the way down and the rest was slight downhill- If you can call a 20metre drop in 12 miles any form of downhill. I rarely had to pedal on the way down wheras the MTB's were working hard just to keep up with my coasting.
Still, that was this morning and tomorrows Christmas day. 5pm and the wife is starting to prepare the Veg for tomorrow. Parsnips- Swede and Brussel Sprouts. There will be roast potatoes and Peas and carrots but they will be readied tomorrow. Then on the meat front, a Large Tukey and a Massive great big Ham. There are only 4 of us so what is it that makes us buy so much food for one day in the year? I think I will need the Boxing day ride just with the thought of all that food. Then there is the Christmas Pud that was made in September and has been fed with brandy for the last month. Boxes of Chocolates in every cupboard and packets of Biscuits and Christmas cake taking up the rest of the space.
Have to admit that I still have to wrap the wifes present so hopefully she will take the dog for a walk this evening so I can do that- Then there is the bike to clean from this morning and unfortunately the MTB from last weeks ride still needs a bit of attention.
Plenty of work still to do but this is the first christmas that I do not have either of the kids at home. Don't know if that means I will be blessed with a quiet evening and a lie in tomorrow or I will be bored stiff with little to do. All I know is that the Lights are charged up and the road bike will be ready to go so If I wake up at 5am- I will be ready to go out for a quick blast before I start cooking the christmas dinner tomorrow. Any one feel like joining me in an early christmas day Ride? Before the family turn up and wreck my peace and quiet for the rest of the day.
I'll join ya, but not too early. My kids are with me in the morning, then off to their mom's house at 10:30 or so. That's when the bike comes out and I hit the streets!
