Bikes: Classic lugged-steel road, touring, gravel

Stumpjumper, my fellow Daytonian...

Did you check out the Gaansari St. Clair yet? Thats like an XO-1, very sweet ride, but very expensive! Gary told me (I visit his shop alot) he wants to do a "berevet" or raddoneur (spelling?) style of frame with lugged steel and XO-1 type dimensions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but an XO-1 is like a road bike with road bike frame geometry but utilizes 26" mtn wheels as a "do-everything" bike which is a much better idea than the mtn bike-based "hybrids" with 700c rims that are never taken off-road anyway. No other bike company ever did this before that I know of.
