yeah when i started a thread a while back about bike weights the general trend, most of the steel bikes started at 16lbs and went up to around 21. there were a few alu and ti numbers that were in the 15-16 lbs range.
don't get hung up on weight. it's not the be all and end all on the track, and certianly not of primary importance on the street. ride quality, fit, durability, aerodynamics and rolling resistance deserve more consideration than weight for a lot of fixed gear applications.
