I've had good luck with some Performance house brand components (clothing, seatpost, pedals, bags, etc.). My thing is if I don't spend $150 on house brand carbon bars I'll be spending $200 or more unless I find some used on eBay. I've used carbon before; a little lighter (usually) than aluminum and do seem lead to a bit less hand fatique. You're right, though . . . nothing wrong w/good ole' aluminum, either.
