When I've flown, I've seen my bicycle board the plane, and it is right there with all the rest of the luggage. When it comes off the plane and I have to go and collect it, it is usually in a heap with all sorts of other oversized luggage like golf clubs, strollers, etc. etc. ... and they don't charge for a lot of those items! The only time it is by itself is if there is no other oversized luggage.


But I will add that if you fly internationally, there is no charge. They only charge if you fly domestically. Now that puzzles me!
