I want to thank those who replied without a condescending remark. Not all of us are experts and know everything about riding. Most of the time my playlist is for when I am on the trainer. When I do ride with my mp3 player the music is very low and with my mirror I am very alert to traffic. I don't ride on city roads, I mostly ride on a stretch of road that has very long straights and plenty of room on the side. I can see cars coming from long distances. When I ride on unfamiliar roads I don't wear it.
I thought when I took up golf, that sport had rude and unfriendly people, but I am finding the rudest people in the cycling sport. I have had to reprimand people at bike shops for their attitude (after spending thousands of $ on a bike!). When is the cycling sport going to realize that if we aren't friendlier to non-cyclist this sport will never become as popular as it is in Europe.
