Dual TT Disc Wheels

We all know the aerodynamic advantages of a rear disc wheel. However, I've heard running a disc wheel in the front for the same benefit can make it a nightmare to steer in the wind. I am still learning my stuff and haven't watched much pro cycling, but I don't see any pros (or haven't yet) running this setup. When there are low winds, is it worth having a front disc for the aero benefits? I ask because I was watching the final 1989 TT on youtube, and noticed Fignon with this setup.
