I know that here in Michigan there is no welfare for able-bodied adults--only for families with children, usually single-parent families. AFDC, the largest welfare program, was cancelled during the Clinton administration. WIC only pays out for something like 2 years, and you have to start working after that. Food stamps used to pay something like a maximum of $80/month. Wow. Do the poor know how live big or what.
Far right talk show hosts would rather having us hating imaginary welfare cheats than addressing the half-trillion dollars we've spent securing the interests of big oil.
