I bought a tub of white Quaker State marine grade high temperature bearing grease at the local Dollar Store (for $1 ) about 3 years ago. I've been using it to pack headset and bb bearings ever since, and used sparngly it works great for my automatic pistols and self-loading rifles. Never a problem, except cleanup when I've used too much.

Getting down to the last 1/4 of the tub - time to go pick up another.....
