White coverings, eh? Sounds as if whoever used these bikes wanted the "pro" look, and removed the rubber. Either that, or the bike shop did so the moment these things came out of the box. I suspect the latter, in fact. I don't think the priest who was the original owner of my '87 Basso would have ripped off the godly protectors that Campagnolo themselves provided... . Far as I know, he wasn't a racer at all in the first place.
