You should ask your shop if they have a good wheel person before you write them off. There are some wheelbuilders at shops that are as good as, if not better than, custom builders at online shops. Just a suggestion.

Oh, and go with a nice set built up with Open Pros. My Cosmos rear wheel stretched it spokes out so much that it couldn't be trued. This took about 2 years. Annoying to get parts for it.
