Every time I log on there's a lovely picture of someone's bike, and half the parts were given to him by a buddy, or he found them in the gutter. I think I need to get new friends or move. But seriously, if, like me, you aren't so lucky, you can often find perfectly satisfactory wheelsets on Ebay for a decent price. Or Craigslist, if you're lucky. You might also try posting a WTB notice on CL - I've had success with that strategy.
