Doing anything to the brakes and not test riding the bike is pretty bad. Any adjustment to the drive train deserves a test ride. It was stupid. Even if your brakes are fine, tell the shop just in case of a repeat performance.

Still, I think the worst was when I went to test ride a bike and the guy forgot to tighten the QR skewer on the front wheel with disc brakes... well you know what happened
Did the front wheel come off ?
