i would think that hands are more common, considering how often they are moved and exposed to bateria??
btw, after referencing my first aid textbook, it says "if sutures are needed, they should be made by a physician within six to eight hours of the injury. suturing wounds allows faster healing, reduces infection, and lessens scarring. some wounds do not usually require stitches: wounds in which the skin's sut edges tend to fall together, and shallow cuts less than one inch long".
