If there is oncoming traffic waiting or approaching to make a left turn, or traffic on the cross street waiting or approaching to make a right onto my street then yes, I will signal. I'll look right at the drivers in question and use the forward chop style arm already described, while holding a center lane position and high cadence. Doing this makes it quite obvious to drivers were I intend to go and that I don't intend to give up my right of way.
