Ok I just got home from the commute on the Denali. Was a little cool out tonight with a 12 mph Headwind and at 44 deg F. Tomorrow I'm off so I'll be shopping for the upgread gear for the Crankset. Thinking of going with the Shimano Sora FC-3301 V2 Crankset 53t/39t. Or maybe with the Sugino RD-48 Single speed Crankset. If I go with the RD-48 I will still only have a 48t chainring but will save some weight and money. Because the RD-48 comes with a Square Taper JIS BB axel. But if I go with the RD-48 I'll get the long 175mm crankset. This will give me a little better speed.
Now as for the shifters. If I go with the Rd-48 Crankset then I will just need the left shifter/break lever and wont need the right. That would save some money as well. The rear deraileur depends on the Crankset as well. If I go with the Sora or the Rd-48 I'll need to get a short cage RD as well. Thinking of going with the Sora rear deraileur. If I stay with a triple chainring then I'll need a Sora long cage deraileur.
So see if you want to change out parts it could/or will affect all the parts that go with it.
