$1000 spent on any bike that fits you well from any of a number of manufacturers, Trek, Cannodale, Specialized, Felt, Scott , etc. will give you a very nice bike that you will enjoy riding.

Set a budget, find a good shop, get fitted and buy the one that feels good to you.
