Joe is right...but you can get a really quality used road bike for about that price. My first road bike, an 11 year old Fuji Roubaix, is an excellent bike, and was within your price range. The most important thing is to get a bike that fits, and the best place to land one of those is at your local bike shop. Find a shop you feel comfortable with, and let them know what you need.
