Hi, Ive been a roadie for 6 years now. Through those years Ive had many close calls, way too many cars turning left in front of me like I was not there which is something I see no way to resolve. Ive done an endo to save my a$$ and now this New Years was hit head on by a hit and run driver at an interstction combined speed of probably over 50mph. I could have been killed, the moment of impact was beyond description. I just got out of the hospital and am recovering from surgery and titanuim replacement/implant. I am starting to feel bikes just dont mix with the idiot drivers and society we live in and the odds just aren't worth it anymore. I dont want to give up cycling and an leaning toward selling my 3 road bikes , and taking the huge loss and gettting a nice mountain bike. I never thought I'd say this. Quitting road bikes is very upsetting to me and I wonder if Im alone on this?
