My LBS let me swap out the stock bars (42s) for WSD 38s that were the same price for no charge. Labor covered in my free year of service. No problems with me riding around with the 42s for weeks while I tried to figure out if I wanted 40s or 38s and then waiting for the order to come in, etc. Maybe you can make an even exchange at your shop? The only thing I had to pay for was new tape b/c I didn't want to reuse the nasty no-longer-white stuff the bike came with. If the new bars had cost more, I would've had to pay the difference of course.
