The 50+ crits are very fast, but super safe, even compared to the 45+ ones. The fields aren't as big but they are much more competitive I think and it's non-stop fun from the whistle to the finish.

Hi Pat,
Well, obviously I've never ridden a 50+ crit but I'd like to think that they can't be more dangerous than some of the 40+ races that I've ridden. I know that there are some 50+ ex-pros but hopefully they aren't quite as dominant as Thurlow has been in the 40+ race.
I'm looking forward to a mass start race in this age group.

I won't be racing again until the Roger Millikan Memorial Criterium on Feb 11th. I'll be racing the Masters 50+ and the Masters 45+ races if all goes well. I'll be working at our (Lightning Velo) race at the velodrome on Jan 28th so I won't be able to do Dominguez Hills.
