The greatest cyclist of all time said "Ride Lots". That being said, most of the stuff I have read focuses way too much on competitive cycling. About the best of the bunch is "Long Distance Cycling", but their schedules for conditioning make you think you can never do a long ride. I returned to cycling seriously after just a passing interest (I'd say 100-500 miles a year) last year. I just rode lots and completed my first century in nearly 30 year last August. Thing about a Century is that you do not have to be in great shape to do them, as long as you take it slow and easy. Welcome Back!
