ah a little slinging practice and we'll be doing it to thread the lanes on Yogne street.
Saying a quiet thank-you to my gears that have served my well over the years.
I know many question the wiseness of filth, but here's the equation. Bought the bike for 600bux 6 years ago..7? I have bought a couple tyres, never more than 15$, and some brake pads, I haven't paid for anything else, cept new shoes..but that was a 12year old cleat requiring changing. My wheels have the conical rubber housing on them as opposed to flat ... these things are awesome... as I'm having the hubs broken open for the first time. I know it's waaaay late, and I would have done it had I had the tools, but I don't. The wheels, while slightly woobily in the hub (this being the main reason for breaking them open), still roll well. I have finally ridden the drivetrain into the ground, worn the shifters down to nubs, and stretched the cables beyond functional tolerances.
While i'm not messing anymore, I'm amazed it has lasted this long without colossal failure before this with daily use. To my bike.....thank-you very much and may we enjoy our new future as a single speed.
