The first appearance that I could locate was in the ad celebrating Thevenet's 1975 TDF victory. Ads from earlier in 1975 do not show it. Please note this applies only to the Reynolds 531DB decals. The timeframe for the inclusion of the symbol seems to have varied, depending on the tubeset. For instance, it is not on 753 decals, even as late as the 1977 Reynolds catalog. Earliest instances I could find for it on 531 PG decals was the 1977 Reynolds catalog, but it may have been earlier, as these decals typically were not featured in ads. It was not on 531 SL in 1976 ads, but was there in the 1977 catalog. I trust his helps and is not too confusing.
