No real theme for this first post, just thought I'd kick the thread off.

Well we inch closer to extreme here in DC with an inch of snow covered in a glaze of ice. I put the studded tires on last night and everything was fine this morning. I rode off the edge of the trail at one point, but thanks to studs and staying loose I kept control and made it back onto the trail with only a slightly elevated pulse to show for it. I think the biggest problems are with what lies beneath the snow and ice like soft mud or loos gravel that poses challenges.
