But all around the helmet might be better. couple of zip-ties would work. Wondering how long do those batteries last?

I used two of the reflective illuminated flashing ankle bands to make a collar for Bailey. Three of them would probably go all the way around a helmet. There are a few different kinds on line. Or you could buy as many as you want and cover every inch of the helmet with them.
