Bikes: Old-ass gearie hardtail MTB, fix-converted Centurion LeMans commuter, SS hardtail monster MTB

Be sure you're turning them the right way (right pedal screws in normal, left pedal is reverse). Have you cleaned the threads of the cranks too?
