Generally a tube, properly encased in a tire, is not going to just fail , without some extraneous event. The remnants of the tube, can sometimes give you a pretty good idea of why it failed.
Both tubes had at least a seven or so inch split in them. All I can think of is that the pressure was too high for the tubes for that amount of damage, but these are the first tubes that have blown on me at 120psi.
